Making Room for The Gift
Well tomorrow is the first day of December, the beginning of that most wonderful time of the year. And, as our culture would have it, that most commercialized time of the year too. All of us are invariably going to receive a new possession or two this month, so why not start out by unloading an old one?
I’m partnering with Jed to promote the first annual Give Something Away day (this Saturday, December 1st). You can read the list of suggested rules on his blog.
If you decide to participate, let one of us know what you got rid of. And while you’re clearing out some extra room in the closet or the garage, why not also clear out some extra room in your heart for the greatest gift ever given? I know I could do with a bit less clutter both inside and out. Let’s get started on the winter cleaning!

We cleaned out our hall closet and I didn’t get the exchange done on Dec 1st but plan to give away some baby clothes and toys to a friend who has a 6 month old grandchild and was looking for some things to have at her house for Nevaeh. (Heaven spelled backwards) I also have a big load to take to ARC or Goodwill. These exchanges will happen sometime in the next week or so but did not make the deadline of December 1st.

Awesome guys! It’s really the giving away that’s important, not the schedule. We unloaded our old entertainment center and stereo system. It turns out that St. Vinnies doesn’t take large furniture, so it all went to the Salvation Army instead.
